Needless to say, we have been trying to get Brandon Johns over here to feed us since before there even was a <a href="http://grangekitchenandbar.com/index.php">Grange Kitchen and Bar</a>.  Maybe things have settled in just enough over there, now that they have been open for about a year, so that he can treat us to a breakfast featuring a couple items from his new brunch menu.<o:p></o:p> <ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc"> <li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l1 level1 lfo2;tab-stops:list .5in"> Pork confit hash with a fried egg, wilted greens.<o:p></o:p></li> <li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l1 level1 lfo2;tab-stops:list .5in"> Pan-fried corn cakes with a peach ginger compote, sautéed greens and bacon</li> </ul> The Grange (thanks again to some mighty generosity) where we will be launching the <a href="http://www.repastspresentandfuture.org/farmer-fund/">Farmer Fund</a> on Sunday August 26th.  Many more details and please to support to follow! We'll work together to turn tomatoes, onions, garlic, and peppers into five or six gallons of salsa (some hot, some mild). FM@SELMA - Local meets historic - a hoop that needs you to build it - and a reason to ride your bike

<a name="_top"></a> <a name="_top"></a>FridayMornings@SELMA invites you to pull up a chair and share your vision for the future of food.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Dan Vernia is back this time leading the “Gang of Five” ready to dish up some spice and history.  These culinary nomads from afar (well, ok, around Rochester, MI), made up of members from restaurant venues too numerous to count on their remaining fingers, come armed with recipes from The Creole Cookery Book, published by the Christian Women's Exchange of New Orleans in 1885.  This amazing find and many others are part of the Janice Bluestein Longone Culinary Archive at the <a href="http://www.clements.umich.edu/">William L. Clements Library</a> on the U of M Campus.
